How to Use the Audio Cutter Online
Audio Cutter trims an MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG or FLAC file to exactly the part you want, with the waveform on screen so the cut lands where you see it. Set the start and end, or cut a section out of the middle, and the cut is made at a zero crossing to avoid the click a mid-wave cut produces. Where the format allows, only the edited region is re-encoded.
Trims a clip to exactly the part you want. Cutting at a zero crossing avoids the click you otherwise get at the boundary — an abrupt cut mid-waveform produces a step change that the speaker reproduces as a pop.

Why Use Audio Tools Online?
A song clip, a voice note or a recorded lecture is often in the wrong format, too long or too quiet. Cutting, joining, converting and boosting sound on your own device fixes it without installing an editor.

- Plays on any device
- Quiet recordings made louder
- Ringtones from your songs
- Song tags corrected
- Only the part you want

Popular Uses for Audio Editing Tools
Most audio jobs are quick fixes, and these are the common ones.
- Custom ringtones Cut the best thirty seconds of a song and save it as a ringtone.
- Format problems Convert WAV, FLAC or M4A files to MP3 so an old player or car stereo plays them.
- Lecture recordings Remove long silences from a recorded class so revision takes less time.
- Voice notes Record a quick voice message in the browser and download it as a file.
- Joining tracks Combine several clips into one file for a dance performance or school function.
- Fixing quiet audio Raise the volume of a soft interview or podcast so listeners can hear it.
- Sending by WhatsApp Compress a large recording so it fits a messaging or email attachment limit.
- Tidying a music library Correct the title, artist and album tags so songs sort properly.

Tips and Good to Know
-
It cuts; it does not fade, normalise or mix. A ringtone that should fade out needs an audio editor after cutting.
-
Cutting a heavily compressed MP3 and saving as MP3 again adds a little loss at the edited region; export WAV if you will edit further.
-
For the soundtrack of a video, run Video to MP3 first; this page opens audio files only.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about this tool.
Can I cut a section out of the middle?
Yes — select the part you want to remove and the pieces either side are joined. Selecting the part you want to keep instead trims everything else away, so the same tool covers both jobs depending on which you mark.
Will the cut leave an audible click?
A short fade is applied at each cut point, which is what prevents the click you get from cutting mid-waveform. For music, cutting on the beat still sounds better than cutting anywhere else.
Will Audio Cutter lower the sound quality?
Cutting and joining keep the sound as it was. Converting to a smaller format such as MP3, or compressing, removes detail most people cannot hear, and a higher bitrate keeps more of it.
Does my recording get uploaded?
No. The audio file is processed right here in the tab, on the phone or computer you are using. Voice notes, interviews and private recordings stay with you, and nothing is kept once you close the page.
Which audio formats does Audio Cutter accept?
Common formats such as MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG and FLAC work in most tools, depending on what your browser can decode. If a file will not open, convert it to MP3 or WAV first with Audio Converter.
How long a recording can I edit?
Songs, lectures and podcasts of ordinary length work fine. Very long recordings need more memory, so an older phone can struggle with them, and a computer with more memory copes with longer files.
Does Audio Cutter work on Android and iPhone?
Yes, in any modern mobile browser. Choose the recording from your phone’s storage, make your changes and download the result. Some phones take a little longer with big files.
