How to Use the Meta Tag Generator Online

What is the Meta Tag Generator?
Builds the meta tags for a page. Only a handful genuinely matter now — title, description, viewport, canonical and the Open Graph set. The meta keywords tag has been ignored by every major search engine for well over a decade and adding it does nothing.
Why Use SEO Tools Before Publishing?
Search engines read titles, descriptions, headings and structured data before they ever show a page to anyone. Checking and generating these from your own markup catches problems before a page goes live.
“Small fixes in the page head decide how you look in search.”
- Titles that fit the results page
- Schema markup without hand-coding
- Share previews that look right
- Campaign links tracked with UTM
- Descriptions within length
- Robots and sitemaps checked
- Keywords counted, not guessed
- Headings in a logical order
Popular Uses for Search Optimization Tools
Site owners use these while writing, launching and fixing pages.
- Search snippet preview See how a title and description will look in Google before publishing.
- Rich results Generate FAQ, product or recipe schema in JSON-LD for a page.
- Robots.txt rules Write and test robots.txt so crawlers skip only the pages you intend.
- XML sitemaps Build or validate an XML sitemap listing the pages you want found.
- Social sharing Make Open Graph and Twitter Card tags so links show a proper preview.
- Keyword checks Count how often a keyword appears so a page does not overuse it.
- Campaign tracking Add UTM tags to links in emails and ads to see what brings visitors.
- Heading structure Check that a page has one H1 and a sensible order of subheadings.
What You Can Do with the Meta Tag Generator
Produces markup that validates, with what each field actually controls explained

Previews the result as a search listing and a social card, since those two truncate differently

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about this tool.
How long should the title and description be?
Google shows roughly 60 characters of a title and 155–160 of a description on desktop, less on mobile. The preview on this page cuts the text exactly where a result would, and the counters turn amber as you approach the limit.
Do I need Open Graph and Twitter tags as well?
Yes if links to the page will be shared. Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and Slack read Open Graph for the card; X reads its own twitter: tags and falls back to Open Graph. The generator writes both sets from the same fields.
What size should the og:image be?
1200 × 630 pixels, under 1 MB, in JPG or PNG. Smaller images are shown as a thumbnail rather than a full-width card, and anything without a 1.91:1 shape is cropped.
Will these tools guarantee better rankings?
No tool can promise that. These checks fix technical problems that hold a page back, such as missing titles or broken schema. Rankings still depend mostly on useful content and links from other sites.
Is Meta Tag Generator free with no limits?
Yes. Run as many checks as you want, without an account or a paid plan. There is no premium version of this tool held back behind an upgrade.
How long should a title and meta description be?
Aim for a title of about 50 to 60 characters and a description of about 150 to 160, so neither is cut off. Google measures in pixels, so the snippet preview is the surest guide.
Does Google use my structured data?
Valid schema makes a page eligible for rich results such as FAQs, recipes or product stars, but Google decides when to show them. Test the markup, then give it time to be crawled.
Does Meta Tag Generator keep a copy of my pages or keywords?
No. The checks run in your browser, and nothing you paste is saved or shared. Unpublished pages and keyword plans stay private until you are ready.
