How to Convert MP4 to MP3 Online
Lectures, meetings and interviews recorded as video are mostly wasted bytes if only the sound matters. This lifts the audio out of an .mp4 or .m4v and saves it as MP3, or as WAV if you want it lossless. The video track is not touched or re-encoded, which is why it is quick even on a long file. If the MP4 has no audio track, you are told rather than handed a silent file.
Pulls the audio out of an MP4. The most common reason is a recorded lecture, meeting or interview where only the sound matters and the video is ten times the size for nothing.

Tips and Good to Know
-
The whole track is extracted. To keep only a section, use Trim Video first and then extract from the trimmed clip.
-
A screen recording made with no microphone has no audio track, so the MP3 is silent or missing. Check the source plays sound first.
-
MOV, WebM and MKV are not accepted here; Video to MP3 takes those.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about this tool.
What bitrate will the MP3 be?
You choose it before converting — 128 kbps is transparent for speech and most music, 320 kbps for the best quality. The audio is decoded from the MP4 and re-encoded once, so the MP3 is never worse than the original track.
Can I extract only part of the audio?
Yes. Set the start and end points on the timeline and only that section is exported, which is the usual way to pull a song or a quote out of a longer recording.
Why is the MP3 silent or missing?
The MP4 has no audio track — screen recordings made without a microphone are the common case. Open the file in a player first: if it has no sound there, there is nothing to extract.
Is there a limit on video length or size?
The site sets no limit. Video processing happens on your own device, so long or high-resolution clips need more memory and time. Short phone clips are quick, while hour-long 4K files are better handled on a computer.
Does MP4 to MP3 upload my video?
No. Your clip is processed in the browser and the result downloads to your device. Home videos and work recordings are never sent to a server.
Why is MP4 to MP3 slower than a desktop editor?
Video work is heavy, and here it runs inside a browser tab using your device’s own processor. That keeps the footage private, but it can take longer than installed software. Keep the tab open until it finishes.
Will the quality drop after compression?
Some detail is lost when a video is made much smaller. Moderate compression is hard to notice on a phone screen, while very small targets make fast motion look blocky. Try a setting and watch the result before sharing.
Can I turn a landscape clip into a vertical Reel?
Yes. Reels & Shorts Maker and Resize & Crop Video crop a wide clip to the tall 9:16 shape that Reels, Shorts and status updates use. Download the vertical version and it is ready to post.
