How to Rearrange PDF Pages Visually
Scans come out in the wrong order, one page lands upside down, a blank sheet slips in between two chapters. Fixing that with page numbers typed into a box means flicking back and forth to check what is on page 7. Seeing the pages is far easier.
This organiser draws a small picture of each page on a board. Drag a page to a new spot, or use its left and right arrows. Turn a page a quarter at a time either way with its two rotate buttons, slip in a blank page with a round + button, and press the cross to mark a page for deletion. Marked pages go pale but stay on the board, so you can change your mind.
When the board shows the document you want, press the Save button. A new PDF is written in your browser with the pages in their new order and turn, and the original file stays exactly as it was.

Organise a PDF in Six Steps
Moving, turning and deleting pages all happen on one board.
-
1. Choose the PDF
Drop the document into the box or tap Choose file. "Opening the PDF…" shows briefly, then the board appears and each page picture fills in as you scroll to it. A locked file asks for its password first.
-
2. Move pages into order
Drag a page and drop it on the spot where it should go. Touch screens use the dotted handle in the top corner for dragging. Every page also has left and right arrow buttons under it that shift it one place at a time.
Good to know:
- The magnifier, or a double-click, opens a page large.
- Each tile keeps its original page number, so you always know where it came from.
- The round + at a page edge adds a blank page there.
-
3. Turn pages the right way up
Each page has a rotate left and a rotate right button, each a quarter turn. Press one twice for an upside-down page. Rotate all left and Rotate all right, just over the grid, handle the whole file in one press.
-
4. Mark pages to delete
The red cross marks a page for removal. It fades on the board and the counter above says how many are marked. Press Restore page on a faded page to bring it back.
-
5. Check the board
The line at the top reads, for example, "18 of 20 pages kept · 2 marked for deletion". Reset puts the pages back in their first order, clears every turn, restores deleted pages and takes out any blanks you added.
-
6. Save the new PDF
The button names the number of pages, such as "Save 18 pages". Press it and the file downloads with "-organized" added to the name, and a note confirms the page count, any blanks and the size.

What Does Organize PDF Mean?
Organising a PDF means changing the running order of its pages, their orientation and which pages are included, without touching what is printed on them. Think of it as laying printed sheets out on a table and shuffling them before stapling.
The saved file is a fresh PDF built from your original pages. Pages travel into it whole, which leaves words searchable and photos at full resolution; a turned page is simply marked to display at its new angle.
Organised PDF
.PDFThe same pages in the order and orientation you chose, minus any you deleted.
What people fix with it
- Pages scanned out of order
- Sideways or upside-down pages
- Stray blank pages
- Appendix placed too early
- Slides in the wrong sequence
- Messy results after a merge
- Chapters that need reshuffling
Why Organise PDF Pages Before Sharing?
A document in the wrong order confuses the reader, and a sideways page makes people tilt their phone or give up. Five minutes on the board turns a rough scan into something that reads properly from start to finish.
“Readers forgive a plain page. They do not forgive a jumbled one.”
- A logical reading order
- See all pages at a glance
- No loss of quality
- Looks properly prepared
- Every page upright
- Blank pages gone
- Prints in the right order
- One save for every change

Organize PDF Features
Every control acts on the page you can see.
Every page as a picture

Drag or use arrows
Drag a page to its new place with a mouse or a finger on the dotted handle, or nudge it with its arrow buttons.

Rotate one page left or right, or every page together.
Also on the board:

Joining files and sorting pages? Merge first, then bring the single file here to arrange everything together.

On a phone, drag by the dotted handle, or use the small arrows under each page for one-step moves.
-
Add page numbers after organising, so the numbers follow the new order.
-
Keep your original until you have opened the saved copy and checked it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about this tool.
How do I rearrange pages in a PDF?
Choose the PDF and wait for the page pictures. Drag pages into place, or use the left and right arrows on each page, then press the Save button. The reordered PDF downloads at once.
Is it possible to turn a single page only?
Yes. Each page has its own rotate left and rotate right buttons, a quarter turn per press. Rotate all left and Rotate all right at the top turn every page together.
How do I delete a page while organising?
Press the red cross on that page. It fades and is left out when you save. Press Restore page, the button that takes the cross’s place, to keep it after all.
Can I organise PDF pages on my phone?
Yes. Drag a page by the dotted handle in its corner, or use the arrows under it to move one place at a time. The rotate buttons and the cross work with a tap.
Can I add a blank page to a PDF?
Yes. Round + buttons sit at the edges of the page pictures. Press one to put a blank page there, then drag it wherever you like. The saved file notes how many blanks it includes.
Does reorganising reduce quality?
No. The pictures on the board are only previews. When you save, the tool copies your original pages into the new file, so text stays selectable and images are unchanged.
What does the Reset button do?
Reset puts every page back in its first order, clears all turns, brings back pages marked for deletion and removes the blank pages you added.
Can I add pages from another PDF?
Not on this board, which works with one document. Join the files with Merge PDF first, then open the merged file here to arrange the combined pages.
Why does a big PDF take a while to appear?
Each page picture is drawn on your own device. Pictures are drawn as you scroll to them, so you can start on the first pages while later ones are still on the way.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Drawing the pages and writing the new file both happen in your browser. The document is not transmitted, which keeps private papers private.
What if the PDF has a password?
If it opens without one and only limits printing or copying, saving works as usual. For a file that must be unlocked before viewing, a box asks for the password. Type it and the board fills in.
Can I delete every page?
No. If all pages are marked, the tool asks you to keep at least one, since an empty PDF is of no use.
Will Organize PDF lower the quality of my PDF?
No. Rearranging, rotating, splitting or joining pages does not re-compress the text or pictures inside them, so they look as sharp as before. Tools that change the layout, such as booklets, scale the pages without redrawing their contents.
Can I use Organize PDF on a phone or tablet?
Yes. It works in Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox on phones and tablets as well as computers. Long documents take longer on a phone, but the steps and the result are the same.
