How to Turn an EPUB Book into PDF
EPUB is the standard ebook format. Its text reflows to fit any screen, which is great on an e-reader but awkward when you want to print a chapter, highlight pages on a tablet PDF app, submit a reading to a course portal, or open the book on a machine with no ebook software.
Choose your .epub file, then pick the paper size, whether pages stand upright or lie sideways, the margin and whether to number pages. Hit Convert to PDF. Chapters are taken in the sequence the publisher defined, each one opens on a fresh page with the book’s own styles and pictures, and the PDF is saved under your EPUB’s file name.
The book never leaves your device. Opening the EPUB, reading its chapters and building the PDF all happen in the browser, which also means there is no upload wait for a large novel.

Steps to Convert EPUB to PDF
Five steps from ebook to printable pages.
-
1. Choose your EPUB
Drag the .epub file onto the box labelled "EPUB ebook", or press Choose file. One book is converted at a time.
Before you start:
- The EPUB must be free of DRM copy protection.
- Books from Project Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks and your own exports work well.
-
2. Select the page size
A4 suits printing in India, the UK and Europe. Pick US Letter for North American printers, or Legal for a longer sheet.
-
3. Adjust layout
Choose Portrait for normal reading or Landscape for books full of wide tables. Set the margin with the slider; 15 percent leaves comfortable white space.
-
4. Keep page numbers on
Page numbers are switched on by default, which helps when you print a long book or need to refer to a page in class.
-
5. Press Convert to PDF
The progress bar shows "Reading the document" and then "Laying out the pages". Your PDF keeps the EPUB’s file name, and inside it carries the book’s own title.
What Is an EPUB File?
EPUB, short for electronic publication, is an open ebook standard now maintained by the W3C. Inside, an EPUB is a ZIP archive holding the chapters as web-style pages, a list saying which order to read them in, pictures, fonts and details such as the title and author.
A PDF version pins that flowing text to sheets of one fixed shape. You lose the ability to change the font size on the fly, but you gain a document that prints predictably, keeps page numbers stable for citations and opens in any PDF reader.

EPUB Converter Features
What the converter carries across, and what it leaves behind.
Chapters in reading order
The book’s own spine decides the sequence, so chapters never come out shuffled, and each one begins on a new page.
The book’s own look
The publisher’s stylesheet sets heading sizes, italics, indents and centred lines, and the cover and illustrations inside the book are placed with the text.
Book title kept
The title recorded in the EPUB becomes the PDF’s document title.
Your page setup
Pick the sheet size and direction, then a margin anywhere from zero to 30 percent.
Sizes:
- A4
- US Letter
- Legal
Page numbering
A number is printed low on every sheet unless you flick the toggle off.
Indian and other scripts
Books in Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, Hindi, Telugu, Gujarati or Kannada, and in Greek or Cyrillic, keep their letters.

Tips for EPUB to PDF Conversion
-
Only DRM-free books convert. Titles bought with copy protection from big ebook stores will not come out readable.
-
Illustrations stored inside the EPUB are drawn where the chapter places them. A cover only appears if the book has a cover page in its reading order; otherwise add one afterwards with Merge PDF.
-
For printing, keep the margin at 15 percent or more so the text does not run into the printer’s unprintable edge.
-
Planning to read on a phone? Keep the EPUB for that; fixed pages mean zooming and scrolling on a small screen.
-
Fonts packed inside the book are not used. Decorative typefaces give way to a plain serif or sans, while sizes, italics and spacing stay as the publisher set them.
-
A5 is not offered, but A4 with a wide margin gives a similar comfortable line length.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about this tool.
How do I convert an EPUB to PDF for free?
Add the .epub, settle paper, direction, margin and numbering, then tap Convert to PDF. The result is named after your book file.
How close is the PDF to what I see on my e-reader?
Quite close. The text, chapter order, headings, lists, tables and illustrations come across, styled by the book’s own stylesheet. Fonts embedded in the book are swapped for standard ones, and the page size is the paper you choose rather than your screen.
Can I convert Kindle or other DRM-protected books?
No. Books with DRM copy protection are encrypted, so the chapters cannot be read by the converter. It works with DRM-free EPUB files, such as public-domain books or your own exports.
Are pictures from the EPUB included?
Yes. Illustrations, maps and diagrams stored inside the EPUB are placed where the chapter shows them, shrunk to the page width if needed. The cover appears when the book includes it as a page in its reading order.
Does each chapter start on a new page?
Yes. Every chapter file in the book begins on a fresh page, the way a printed book is laid out, and its heading keeps the size the publisher gave it.
Is the result suitable for printing?
Yes. That is one of the main reasons to convert. Pick the paper size your printer uses, keep a margin of around 15 percent, and print as usual.
Does it work with books in Indian languages?
Yes. Malayalam, Gujarati, Tamil, Bengali, Hindi, Kannada and Telugu novels keep their letters, joined correctly. Punjabi, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic letters are replaced with "?" for now, and a message tells you when that happens.
How long does a whole novel take?
Usually a few seconds on a computer and a little longer on a phone. There is no upload step, so the time depends only on your device and the length of the book.
Is my ebook uploaded anywhere?
No. The EPUB is unpacked and converted inside your browser. The finished PDF is written directly to your downloads, and no copy is stored anywhere else.
Can I convert several EPUB files at once?
One book at a time. After the first PDF downloads, press the Start again arrow and choose the next EPUB.
Can I search the whole book once it is a PDF?
Yes. Every word is stored as a character rather than a picture, so the search box of any PDF reader finds names, quotes and terms across all chapters.
Will my formatting stay the same after conversion?
Simple layouts usually come through well, including headings, tables and images. Complex documents with unusual fonts, text boxes or tracked changes may shift slightly, so check the preview or the downloaded PDF before sending it anywhere important.
Can I use EPUB to PDF on my phone?
Yes, it runs in the mobile browser you already have. Choose a file from your gallery or files app, convert it, and the PDF is saved to your downloads. Large files take longer on a phone.
Is there a file size limit for EPUB to PDF?
There is no fixed limit set by the site. Because conversion happens on your device, the practical size depends on its memory. Most everyday documents and photos convert without trouble on a modern phone or computer.
