How to Compress PowerPoint Online
Compress PowerPoint makes a .pptx smaller by re-encoding the pictures on its slides — the photos and screenshots that make a deck 50 MB — at one of three levels, while every slide, layout, animation and speaker note stays exactly as it was. It runs in your browser.
Shrinks a .pptx, where slide photos are almost always the entire file size. A deck that reaches 80MB is not carrying 80MB of slides — it is carrying a handful of phone photos embedded at full resolution behind them.

Why Inspect a Document Before Sending?
A file can look fine on screen and still fail a portal check because of its version, page size, fonts or hidden permissions. Inspecting it first shows those details plainly, and the helper tools split, merge and shrink data and office files.

Tips and Good to Know
-
Embedded video and audio are not re-encoded here; a deck that is big because of a video needs Compress Video on the clip first.
-
Charts, shapes and SmartArt are vector drawings, not images, and are left alone.
-
Very large decks (hundreds of photos) take a minute or two on a laptop and longer on a phone.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about this tool.
Why is my presentation so large?
Because each pasted photo is stored at its original camera resolution. Twenty phone photos are easily 60 MB. Re-encoding them at screen resolution is the whole saving.
Will animations and speaker notes survive?
Yes. The slide XML — which holds layouts, animations, transitions and notes — is copied unchanged; only the picture files are replaced.
My deck has a video in it — will this help?
Only for the pictures. Compress the video separately with Compress Video, then replace it in the deck.
Is the deck uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser; a confidential deck never leaves your machine.
Does Compress PowerPoint change my file?
The inspection tools only read the file and report what they find, so your document is untouched. Tools that split, merge or compress give you a new file and leave the original as it was.
What is PDF/A and do I need it?
PDF/A is a version of PDF made for keeping documents readable for many years. Some courts, government offices and archives ask for it. If a portal does not mention it, an ordinary PDF is fine.
Can I use Compress PowerPoint without signing up?
Yes. No account, no email and no fee. Drop in the file and the report or result appears on the page, ready to read or download.
Why was my PDF rejected by a portal?
Common reasons are a file that is too large, the wrong PDF version, a password, missing fonts or pages of the wrong size. Checking those details here usually points to the cause.
