How to Save PDF Pages as JPG Images
Sometimes a picture is simply more useful than a PDF. WhatsApp shows a JPG instantly in the chat, a website form may want an image of a certificate, and a single page of a brochure makes a better social post than a document link.
This converter draws each chosen page of your PDF exactly as a PDF viewer would, then saves it as a JPG. You decide the resolution, from light screen images to sharp 300 dpi prints, and how strongly JPG compression is applied. An empty Pages field means the whole document, while entries such as 2-4, 9 pick only some.
One page downloads as a single JPG; several arrive together in one ZIP file, each named with its page number. Rendering happens in the browser tab, which lets even a confidential file become pictures without a copy going elsewhere.

Turn PDF Pages Into JPGs Step by Step
Five steps, and the defaults already suit sharing on a phone or the web.
-
1. Select the PDF
Choose a file or drop it on the box. A line under the options confirms how many pages were detected.
-
2. Pick the pages
Leave Pages empty to convert everything, or list the pages you want.
Examples:
- 1 for only the first page
- 1-3, 7 for pages one to three and seven
- 5- for page five to the end
-
3. Choose the resolution
Higher resolution means crisper text and a bigger file. Good suits most uses; Print is for paper or zooming in.
Screen (100 dpi)Good (150 dpi)Print (300 dpi)
-
4. Set the JPG quality
The JPG quality slider runs from 40 to 100% and starts at 88%. Lower it for smaller files, raise it if text edges look fuzzy.
-
5. Press Convert to images
Progress shows page by page. A single page saves as one JPG; more than one comes as a ZIP named after your PDF.

What Does PDF to JPG Mean?
A PDF page is a set of instructions: draw this text here, this line there, this photo at this size. A JPG is a grid of coloured dots. Converting means following the instructions to paint the page onto a canvas at a chosen number of dots per inch, then saving that canvas as a JPG.
Because the result is a picture, the words on it are no longer text you can select or search; they are part of the image. That makes JPG right for previews, thumbnails, sharing and uploads, and wrong when someone needs to copy the text. For that, PDF to Word or PDF to Text are better choices.

Tips for Sharp JPG Pages
-
For WhatsApp and web pages, Screen or Good is plenty. Print resolution makes much larger files.
-
If small text looks blurry, raise the resolution before raising JPG quality. Resolution adds detail; quality only reduces blur from compression.
-
Need an image under 100 KB? Use Screen resolution and a JPG quality around 60%.
-
Pages with mostly text and line drawings look cleaner as PNG. Use the PDF to PNG tool for those.
-
Type just the page you need, such as 3, instead of converting a whole long document.
-
Password-locked PDF? Free it with Unlock PDF, then come back here.
-
On a phone, a ZIP may need the Files app to open. Convert one page at a time if that is easier.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about this tool.
What are the steps to change a PDF into JPG?
Choose the PDF, leave Pages empty or type the pages you want, pick a resolution and JPG quality, and press Convert to images. One page downloads as a JPG; several download together as a ZIP.
How do I convert only one page of a PDF to JPG?
Enter just its number, say 4, under Pages and convert. You get a single JPG of that page, with no ZIP to unpack.
What resolution should I choose?
Screen (about 100 dpi) for chats and websites, Good (150 dpi) for most everyday uses, and Print (300 dpi) when the image will be printed or zoomed. Higher settings make sharper but much larger files.
Why did I get a ZIP file?
When more than one page is converted, the images are packed into one ZIP so your browser does not ask to save dozens of files. Windows and macOS open ZIPs with a double-click, and phones handle them in their file manager.
Will the text in the JPG be searchable?
No. The page becomes a picture, so the words are pixels. If you need the text itself, use PDF to Word or PDF to Text instead.
Is it better to choose JPG or PNG?
JPG gives smaller files and suits pages with photos. PNG keeps text and line edges perfectly crisp and suits documents, charts and diagrams. This page makes JPG; PDF to PNG makes PNG.
Is my PDF uploaded to convert it?
No. Each page is painted by your browser and saved as an image right there. Nothing is transmitted, so bank papers and contracts are fine to convert.
My PDF is locked. Can I still get JPGs?
Yes, in two steps. Open Unlock PDF, enter the password you were given to remove it, save the copy, and then bring that copy back to this converter.
Can I do this on my phone?
Yes. Mobile browsers run it just as well. A single JPG goes to your downloads; for several pages, open the ZIP in your file manager and save the pictures to your gallery.
How many pages can I convert?
No page limit is set. Long PDFs at Print resolution produce large ZIPs and take longer, since every page is drawn on your device. Start with a lower resolution or a page range for big files.
How do I make the JPG file smaller?
Choose Screen resolution and lower the JPG quality slider to around 60 to 70%. Both reduce the file size; resolution has the bigger effect.
Will PDF to JPG keep my tables and layout?
Text and simple tables usually come across cleanly. Pages with columns, sidebars or heavy design may need some tidying afterwards, because a PDF stores positions on the page rather than a structure. Always glance through the result.
Can a scanned PDF be converted?
A scan is a picture of text, so ordinary conversion finds little to copy. Run the scan through OCR PDF first to add a text layer, or use Scan to Word, then convert as usual.
Can I run PDF to JPG as often as I want?
Yes. There are no daily limits, no credits and no account. Convert as many files as you need, one after another, and nothing is marked or watermarked in the result.
