Taking Unwanted Pages Out of a PDF
Plenty of PDFs carry pages nobody needs. A scanner adds a blank sheet, a bank statement ends with three pages of terms, a downloaded report has adverts in the middle. Removing them makes the file shorter, lighter and easier to read.
Once the document is chosen, a small preview of every page is laid out in a grid. Tap the ones you want gone and they turn faded with a red cross, or type the numbers yourself, such as 2, 5-7. The box underneath always tells you how many pages you have picked out of the total.
Press Remove pages and a new copy downloads with those pages taken out. The remaining pages are copied across untouched, and the file on your device stays as it was, so you can always go back to it.

Removing PDF Pages in Five Steps
From choosing the file to saving the shorter copy.
-
1. Pick your PDF
Drag your document into the drop area, or tap Choose file to browse. Within a moment you see how many pages it holds.
-
2. Tap the pages to remove
Under "Or click the pages", press each page picture you want to delete. A picked page fades and shows a red cross. Press it again to keep it after all.
Good to know:
- Pictures load for every page as you scroll the grid.
- The magnifier on a page opens it large, with a button to pick it.
- Tapping and typing stay in step, so you can mix both.
-
3. Or type the page numbers
Use the "Pages to remove" box for quick entries. It updates to say how many pages your entry selects.
Examples:
- 3 removes page three
- 2, 9 removes pages two and nine
- 5-7 removes pages five to seven
- 20- removes page twenty and everything after
-
4. Press Remove pages
The kept pages are copied into a new PDF in their original order. If your choice would delete every single page, the tool stops and says so instead.
-
5. Download the trimmed file
It saves automatically with "-trimmed" added to the name. The result screen confirms how many pages went and how many remain, with the size before and after.

What Does Removing PDF Pages Do?
Removing pages builds a fresh copy of your PDF that simply leaves the chosen pages out. Everything you keep stays in the same sequence, with the same text, images and page size as before.
Nothing is printed to images or re-scanned along the way. The pages you keep are carried across as they are, so the new file is usually smaller than the original by roughly the weight of the pages you dropped.
Trimmed PDF
.PDFYour document minus the pages you picked, in its original order.
Pages people usually delete
- Blank scanner pages
- Terms and conditions at the end
- Pages with private details
- Accidental duplicates
- Unused slides
- Advert or cover pages
- Out-of-date sections
Why Remove Pages From PDFs?
A shorter document is quicker to read and cheaper to print, and it keeps attention on what matters. Sometimes it is also about privacy: the page with your account number does not need to go to everyone.
“The best page to send is sometimes the one you leave out.”
- A lighter file
- Private pages kept back
- Fits email limits more easily
- Original order kept
- Focused reading
- Less paper and ink
- Remaining pages unchanged
- A cleaner final copy

Tips for Trimming a PDF
-
Scroll the page pictures once before pressing the button. A faded page with a red cross is one that will go.
-
For long documents, type ranges instead of tapping dozens of pages one by one.
-
Keeping only a few pages? Extract Pages is quicker, because you list what stays instead of what goes.
-
Your original is not changed, so keep it until you have checked the trimmed copy.
-
To reorder or rotate pages as well as delete them, use Organize PDF instead.
-
Removing a page takes it out completely. To hide part of a page, use a redaction tool.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about this tool.
What is the free way to get rid of PDF pages?
Choose your PDF here, tap the page pictures you want gone or type their numbers, and press Remove pages. The shorter file downloads at once, with no fee, account or watermark.
How do I remove one page from a PDF?
Enter the single number, say 4, in the "Pages to remove" box, or tap the fourth picture in the grid. Press Remove pages and you get a copy without it.
Can I delete several pages at once?
Yes. Tap as many pages as you like, or type them in one line such as 2, 6, 10-12. They are all removed in a single pass.
Will removing pages affect the other pages?
No. Every page you keep is carried into the new copy unchanged and in its original position. Words remain selectable, and photos keep their original sharpness.
Can I undo it?
Your original PDF is never altered, only a new trimmed copy is made. If you removed the wrong page, pick the original again and redo the selection.
Can I trim a PDF on my mobile?
Yes. The page pictures are large enough to tap with a finger, and once you press Remove pages the shorter copy appears in your phone’s downloads.
How do I check a page before I remove it?
Press the magnifier in the corner of its picture. The page opens large, you can step through the others, and the button underneath picks or unpicks that page for removal.
Can I remove pages from a protected PDF?
Restrictions on printing and copying are cleared by the tool as it loads the file. When a file demands a password just to view it, a password field shows up. Enter it, press Open, then pick your pages as usual.
Will the file get smaller?
Usually, yes. Pages you remove take their text and pictures with them, so the new file is typically lighter. The result screen shows the exact size before and after.
Is my PDF sent to a server?
No. Your browser opens and edits it locally, then hands the trimmed copy to your downloads folder. At no point does the document pass over the internet.
What if I select every page?
The tool will not make an empty document. It stops and tells you that removing every page would leave nothing behind.
Will Remove Pages lower the quality of my PDF?
No. Rearranging, rotating, splitting or joining pages does not re-compress the text or pictures inside them, so they look as sharp as before. Tools that change the layout, such as booklets, scale the pages without redrawing their contents.
Can I use Remove Pages on a phone or tablet?
Yes. It works in Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox on phones and tablets as well as computers. Long documents take longer on a phone, but the steps and the result are the same.
Do my PDFs get uploaded anywhere?
No. Your PDF is opened and changed inside the browser tab, and the new file is saved straight to your device. No copy is kept on a server, and closing the tab clears it.
