How to Change PowerPoint Slides to PDF
Decks get shared far beyond the room they were shown in. A teacher wants the seminar slides, a client asks for the pitch, a classmate missed the lecture. Sending the .pptx means they need PowerPoint, and phones often mangle it. A PDF opens anywhere.
This converter goes through your .pptx slide by slide and draws each one as its own PDF page, the same shape as the slide. Text boxes, pictures, shapes and tables sit where you placed them, with the theme colours, backgrounds and logos from the slide master. Links in the text stay clickable, and every word is still text you can search and copy.
Some things only PowerPoint can draw: charts, SmartArt, video, shadows and 3-D effects are left out, and a gradient fill is shown in its first colour. Hidden slides and speaker notes are not included. Unusual fonts are drawn in a similar everyday typeface, which can nudge where a line wraps. For a deck full of charts, export from PowerPoint itself.

Turn Your Deck Into a PDF File
Five quick steps from .pptx to a shareable document.
-
1. Check the file type
The converter reads .pptx, the format PowerPoint has used since 2007, and LibreOffice Impress .odp files. An old .ppt or a Keynote file should be saved as .pptx before you start.
-
2. Select the presentation
Hit Choose file above, or drag the deck across from your desktop. The slides are read on your computer or phone.
-
3. Nothing to set for a .pptx
The page size comes from the deck itself, so a 16:9 slide gives a wide 16:9 page and a 4:3 slide a squarer one. There is no paper size, margin or page number to choose.
16:94:3One page per slide
-
4. Settings for an .odp file
An Impress .odp is laid out as a document instead, so Page size, Orientation, Margin and Add page numbers appear once you choose one.
-
5. Convert and review
Tap Convert to PDF. A PDF named after your deck is saved. If some slides were hidden, the message says how many were skipped. Flip through any slide that had a chart.
In the PDF you get:
- One page per slide, at the slide’s shape
- Backgrounds, theme colours and master logos
- Text boxes, pictures, shapes and tables in place
- Clickable links and searchable text
What Does PowerPoint to PDF Do Here?
A .pptx file is a bundle of slides, each holding text boxes, pictures and design settings, plus a master and layouts that supply the theme. This tool reads that whole chain, works out where every item sits and what colour it takes, and draws each slide onto a PDF page of the same size.
The text is drawn as real letters, not a photo of them, so the PDF stays searchable and sharp when zoomed, and it keeps working even with text in Indian languages. Bullets written in Malayalam, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil or Hindi appear with their proper shapes, and so do Greek, Cyrillic and ₹ prices. Letters from Arabic, Japanese, Chinese or Punjabi (Gurmukhi) are the exception for now: each becomes a "?" and the result message warns you.

- Easy to forward on WhatsApp
- Slide design holds on every screen

Common Uses for Slides to PDF
A few of the everyday reasons people convert a deck.
- Class notes from lectures Students turn the professor’s slides into a PDF they can read and highlight on a tablet.
- Seminar submissions Colleges often ask for the seminar or viva deck as a PDF. Convert it and upload.
- Client follow-ups Send the key points of a pitch after the meeting, without handing over your editable slides.
- Training handouts Give trainees a printed set of the slides, one to a page, exactly as they saw them on the projector.
- Regional language talks A Tamil or Hindi awareness presentation becomes a handout with every letter intact.
- Event agendas Turn a programme deck into a one-file schedule for guests.
- Board and review packs Circulate the slides ahead of a meeting so people come prepared. Check any chart slide first, since charts are not drawn.
- Exam revision Collect topic slides into PDFs that are easy to search just before an exam.
PowerPoint to PDF Features
What the converter pulls out of your slides, and the choices you have.
One page per slide
Slides come out in the order PowerPoint numbers them, each on a page the same size and shape as the slide. Hidden slides are skipped.
Text boxes where you put them
Titles, bullets and numbered points keep their font sizes, colours and positions, and links in the text stay clickable.
Pictures, shapes and tables
Photos, logos from the slide master, drawn shapes and tables are placed exactly where they sit on the slide, over its background.
Indian languages drawn properly
Seven Indian writing systems plus Greek and Cyrillic letters, and the ₹ symbol, get fonts that actually contain them.
Supported:
- Tamil
- Hindi
- Telugu
- Bengali
Page size from the deck
A widescreen deck gives wide pages and a 4:3 deck gives squarer ones, with no white border added around the slide.
Works with .odp too
LibreOffice Impress files are accepted as well. They are laid out as a document, with paper size, margin and page numbers to choose.
Why Pick ToolXkit for PPTX to PDF?
Confidential decks stay put
Pitch decks often hold prices and plans. Your browser unpacks the .pptx itself, and no copy reaches our servers or anyone else’s.
Clear about the output
We say upfront that charts, SmartArt and shadows are not drawn, so you know which slides to check before sending.
Regional language support
A deck prepared in Kannada or Bengali keeps its words instead of printing hollow squares, and the same goes for five other Indian scripts.
Sharp at any zoom
Slide text is drawn as real letters rather than a screenshot, so it stays crisp on a projector and can be searched or copied.
Nothing to pay
No account, no trial period and no logo stamped across your handout.

Tips for Better Slide Handouts
-
Unhide any slide you want in the PDF before converting. Hidden slides are skipped on purpose, just as in a slide show.
-
Charts and SmartArt are not drawn. Copy the chart in PowerPoint and paste it back as a picture, and it will appear.
-
Shadows and glow are dropped, and a gradient fill shows as its first colour. Plain fills convert exactly.
-
Need every effect and chart exactly as designed? Use Export or Save as PDF inside PowerPoint instead of this page.
-
Want a portrait handout on A4 paper? Convert here first, then put the PDF through our Resize PDF tool.
-
Copy important speaker notes onto the slide before converting, as notes are not included.
-
Scroll the finished PDF and confirm every photo you care about is present.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about this tool.
How do I convert PowerPoint to PDF without Microsoft Office?
Open this page in any browser, choose your .pptx and press Convert to PDF. No Office, no app and no account are needed. The PDF is made on your device and saved to your downloads.
Does the PDF keep my slide design?
Mostly, yes. Each slide becomes one page with its background, theme colours, master logos, text boxes, shapes, pictures and tables in their places. Charts, SmartArt, video, shadows and 3-D effects are not drawn, and animations have no meaning in a PDF. For a deck built around charts, use PowerPoint’s own export.
Are the pictures on my slides included?
Yes. Photos, logos and screenshots are placed at the size and position they have on the slide, and a picture used as the slide background is drawn behind everything else. Shapes drawn with PowerPoint’s own tools are included too.
Are speaker notes included in the PDF?
No, only what is on the slides themselves. If your notes matter, paste them into a text box on the slide, or keep them in a separate Word file and convert that too.
Can I convert a .ppt file from an old PowerPoint?
This page reads .pptx and Impress .odp, not the old .ppt. Open the .ppt in PowerPoint, LibreOffice Impress or Google Slides, save it as .pptx, and then convert the new file here.
Can I convert a PowerPoint made in Tamil or Hindi?
Yes. Tamil and Hindi slides convert with their vowel signs and conjuncts in place, and slides in Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam or Telugu behave the same way. Gurmukhi (Punjabi), Arabic, Chinese and Japanese text cannot be drawn yet; those characters print as question marks.
Is my presentation uploaded?
No. The deck is unzipped and read by your browser, and the PDF is assembled there too. Nothing about your slides is sent over the internet.
Can I convert Google Slides to PDF here?
Yes, in two steps. In Google Slides choose File, Download, Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx), then bring that file to this page and convert it.
How many slides can I convert?
No slide cap is set. The deck is processed with the memory your own device has, so a long, photo-filled presentation is quick on a computer and slower on a modest phone.
Can I put several slides on one page?
Not here. This converter always gives one page per slide, at the slide’s own size. To print two or four to a sheet, open the PDF and pick several pages per sheet in your printer settings.
Why is part of a slide empty in the PDF?
That area most likely held a chart, a SmartArt graphic or a video, which only PowerPoint can draw. Paste the chart back onto the slide as a picture and convert again, and it will show.
Are hidden slides included?
No. Slides marked as hidden in PowerPoint are skipped, the same as in a slide show, and the result message tells you how many were left out. Unhide them first if you want them in the PDF.
Will my formatting stay the same after conversion?
Simple layouts usually come through well, including headings, tables and images. Complex documents with unusual fonts, text boxes or tracked changes may shift slightly, so check the preview or the downloaded PDF before sending it anywhere important.
Can I use PowerPoint to PDF on my phone?
Yes, it runs in the mobile browser you already have. Choose a file from your gallery or files app, convert it, and the PDF is saved to your downloads. Large files take longer on a phone.
