How to Use the Favicon Generator Online
Makes every icon size a site needs from one image. Design at the smallest size first — a favicon renders at 16 pixels in a browser tab, where a detailed logo becomes an unreadable smudge and a single bold letter or mark does not.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about this tool.
Which sizes do I actually need?
A 32×32 for the browser tab, a 180×180 apple-touch-icon for iOS home screens, and a 512×512 for Android install prompts. The old multi-resolution .ico still helps for older Windows browsers and costs almost nothing to include.
My favicon will not update in the browser.
Favicons are cached unusually aggressively — a normal refresh will not shift one. Load the icon file directly by its URL and reload that, or try a private window, before concluding the new one did not take.
Does Favicon Generator reduce my photo’s quality?
Converting and cropping keep quality close to the original. Compressing trades a little detail for a much smaller file, and a lighter setting keeps more of it. Compare the preview with your original before saving.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Pictures are opened and changed inside your browser, and the result is saved to your device. Family photos, ID scans and signatures are never sent anywhere.
Will my photo be accepted by the exam form?
The exam photo tools follow the size, dimensions and file weight given in the official notice. Always read the latest notice too, because boards sometimes change their rules between years.
Can I edit pictures with Favicon Generator straight from my gallery?
Yes. Pick a photo from your gallery or take one with the camera, then save the result back to your phone. Everything works in the browser, so there is no app to install.
Is Favicon Generator free with no watermark?
Yes. Use it for as many pictures as you need without an account, and each image comes back without any logo or mark from the site.
