How to Convert SVG to PNG Online

SVG to PNG: before and after SVG A SVG FILE SVG TO PNG PNG A PNG FILE

SVG to PNG draws a vector file as a bitmap PNG you can use where SVG is not accepted, such as a slide, a document or an app store listing. The PNG comes out at the width and height written in the SVG, with the transparent background kept. Because the browser does the drawing, the result matches what the browser shows.

Rasterises a vector SVG at any size. Choose the size before exporting rather than after — an SVG is resolution-independent and a PNG is not, so scaling the PNG up afterwards throws away the very advantage the SVG had.

At a glance

  • Takes: .svg files
  • Gives: PNG, lossless, with transparency
  • Size: the width and height declared in the SVG (a fallback size when none is set)
  • Fonts: whatever the browser has installed, substituted where missing
  • Rendering: the browser's own engine, so colours match the screen
  • Runs: locally, no upload

Why Use Online Image Tools?

“The right photo in the wrong size still gets rejected.”
  • Photos that meet size limits
  • Crops that fit each platform
  • Faster loading web pages
  • Text and watermarks added
  • Any format to any format
  • Private details stripped from photos
  • Exam photos made to rule
  • Colours picked straight from pictures

What the SVG to PNG Converter Does

Reads SVG and writes PNG

Vector stays vector — the shapes are rewritten rather than rasterised at a fixed size

Reports the encoded size, which matters because Base64 adds about a third to the original

Tips and Good to Know

  1. There is no size box on this page. Set the width and height attributes in the SVG before converting, because scaling the PNG up afterwards throws away the sharpness the vector had.

  2. Text set in a font the browser lacks is drawn in a substitute. Convert text to outlines in your vector editor first if the lettering must match.

  3. An SVG that links to an external image or font will not render. Embed those inside the file, or remove them, and try again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about this tool.

What size should I export at?

Whatever the largest place you will use it needs, and ideally at twice that for high-density screens. An SVG has no inherent pixel size — it is instructions for drawing — so the export dimensions you choose are the only resolution the PNG will ever have.

My fonts came out wrong in the PNG.

The SVG references a font by name and the renderer substituted the nearest one it had. Convert the text to outlines in your vector editor before exporting, which is what makes the shapes independent of any installed font.

Does SVG to PNG reduce my photo’s quality?

Converting and cropping keep quality close to the original. Compressing trades a little detail for a much smaller file, and a lighter setting keeps more of it. Compare the preview with your original before saving.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Pictures are opened and changed inside your browser, and the result is saved to your device. Family photos, ID scans and signatures are never sent anywhere.

Will my photo be accepted by the exam form?

The exam photo tools follow the size, dimensions and file weight given in the official notice. Always read the latest notice too, because boards sometimes change their rules between years.

Can I edit pictures with SVG to PNG straight from my gallery?

Yes. Pick a photo from your gallery or take one with the camera, then save the result back to your phone. Everything works in the browser, so there is no app to install.

Is SVG to PNG free with no watermark?

Yes. Use it for as many pictures as you need without an account, and each image comes back without any logo or mark from the site.
