How to Use the Image Converter Online

Image Converter: before and after PNG A BEFORE IMAGECONVERTER PNG A AFTER

Image Converter changes pictures from one format to another: PNG, JPG, WebP or AVIF out, and PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG, BMP or GIF in. Drop in a batch and get a ZIP back. The choice that matters is lossy against lossless: PNG keeps every pixel, JPG and WebP throw detail away to save space, and converting a JPG to PNG only stops further loss rather than repairing it. When the target is JPG you pick the colour that replaces transparency.

Converts between PNG, JPG, WebP, BMP and GIF using the browser’s own encoders. The choice that matters is lossy against lossless: PNG and BMP keep every pixel, JPG and WebP discard detail to save space. Converting a JPG to PNG does not restore what the JPG threw away — it only stops any further loss.

Why Use Online Image Tools?

Every website, exam form and social app wants pictures in its own size, shape and format. Resizing, compressing, cropping and converting on your own device gets a photo accepted the first time, without sending it anywhere.

“The right photo in the wrong size still gets rejected.”
  • Photos that meet size limits
  • Crops that fit each platform
  • Faster loading web pages
  • Text and watermarks added
  • Any format to any format
  • Private details stripped from photos
  • Exam photos made to rule
  • Colours picked straight from pictures

Popular Uses for Photo Editing Tools

These are the picture jobs people bring here most often.

  • iPhone HEIC photos Convert HEIC pictures to JPG so they open on Windows and upload to any site.
  • Faster websites Convert product images to WebP and compress them so pages load quicker on mobile.
  • Social media posts Crop and resize a picture to fit Instagram, Facebook or a Discord profile.
  • Passport-style photos Make a passport-size ID photo, cropped to the size a form or office asks for.
  • Removing location data Strip GPS and camera details from a photo before posting it publicly.
  • Favicons for websites Turn a logo into the small icon that shows in a browser tab.
  • Collages and GIFs Put several photos into one collage or join frames into a short animated GIF.

Tips and Good to Know

  1. SVG goes in but does not come out. To edit or clean an SVG, or to trace a bitmap into vector shapes, this is the wrong tool.

  2. AVIF output needs a browser with an AVIF encoder. If yours lacks one the tool stops and says so instead of saving a mislabelled file.

  3. It converts, it does not aim at a file size. For a photo that must be under 100 KB, use Compress Image with a target.

  4. Animated GIFs come out as a single still frame. Keep the animation with GIF to MP4 instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about this tool.

Do I need to install anything to use the Image Converter?

No. Image Converter runs entirely in your browser — there is nothing to download, no extension and no desktop program. It works the same on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iPhone.

Is it safe to use the Image Converter online?

Safer than the usual alternative, yes. Most online tools upload your file to a server you know nothing about, where it sits until someone deletes it. Here the file never leaves your device — the processing happens in the page itself, so there is no server copy to leak, retain or sell.

Does Image Converter reduce my photo’s quality?

Converting and cropping keep quality close to the original. Compressing trades a little detail for a much smaller file, and a lighter setting keeps more of it. Compare the preview with your original before saving.

Will my photo be accepted by the exam form?

The exam photo tools follow the size, dimensions and file weight given in the official notice. Always read the latest notice too, because boards sometimes change their rules between years.

Can I edit pictures with Image Converter straight from my gallery?

Yes. Pick a photo from your gallery or take one with the camera, then save the result back to your phone. Everything works in the browser, so there is no app to install.

Is Image Converter free with no watermark?

Yes. Use it for as many pictures as you need without an account, and each image comes back without any logo or mark from the site.
