How to Use the Mirror Image Online

Mirror Image: before and after JPG A BEFORE MIRROR IMAGE JPG A AFTER

Mirror Image flips a picture left to right, the way a mirror does, and saves it as a PNG. That is what an iron-on transfer or a vinyl stencil needs, because the design is applied face down and comes out reversed. It also fixes the odd feeling of a selfie: front cameras show you a mirrored preview and then save the other way round.

Produces a mirror image, which is what iron-on transfers need and what makes a selfie match how you look to other people. Front cameras usually mirror the preview and then save the unmirrored version, which is why your own photos can look subtly wrong to you.

At a glance

  • Takes: one JPG, PNG or WebP
  • Gives: PNG, same pixel size as the original
  • Direction: horizontal for a true mirror, vertical to turn it upside down
  • Transparency: kept, since the output is PNG
  • Runs: on your machine, nothing sent anywhere

Why Use Online Image Tools?

Every website, exam form and social app wants pictures in its own size, shape and format. Resizing, compressing, cropping and converting on your own device gets a photo accepted the first time, without sending it anywhere.

“The right photo in the wrong size still gets rejected.”
  • Photos that meet size limits
  • Crops that fit each platform
  • Faster loading web pages
  • Text and watermarks added
  • Any format to any format
  • Private details stripped from photos
  • Exam photos made to rule
  • Colours picked straight from pictures

Tips and Good to Know

  1. Any writing in the photo will read backwards after mirroring. That is correct for a transfer that will be ironed face down, and wrong for almost everything else.

  2. It does not rotate by 90 degrees. A photo that came out sideways needs Rotate Image, which turns it rather than reflecting it.

  3. The download is always a PNG, so a mirrored JPG photo comes back as a larger file. Convert it with PNG to JPG afterwards if size matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about this tool.

Do I need to install anything to use the Mirror Image?

No. Mirror Image runs entirely in your browser — there is nothing to download, no extension and no desktop program. It works the same on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iPhone.

Is it safe to use the Mirror Image online?

Safer than the usual alternative, yes. Most online tools upload your file to a server you know nothing about, where it sits until someone deletes it. Here the file never leaves your device — the processing happens in the page itself, so there is no server copy to leak, retain or sell.

Does Mirror Image reduce my photo’s quality?

Converting and cropping keep quality close to the original. Compressing trades a little detail for a much smaller file, and a lighter setting keeps more of it. Compare the preview with your original before saving.

Will my photo be accepted by the exam form?

The exam photo tools follow the size, dimensions and file weight given in the official notice. Always read the latest notice too, because boards sometimes change their rules between years.

Can I edit pictures with Mirror Image straight from my gallery?

Yes. Pick a photo from your gallery or take one with the camera, then save the result back to your phone. Everything works in the browser, so there is no app to install.

Is Mirror Image free with no watermark?

Yes. Use it for as many pictures as you need without an account, and each image comes back without any logo or mark from the site.
