Does robots.txt stop a page from being indexed?
No — it stops crawling. A blocked URL can still be indexed from links elsewhere, shown without a description. To keep a page out of results, allow crawling and add a noindex meta tag instead.
Should I block AI crawlers?
That is a choice, not a rule. GPTBot, ClaudeBot, CCBot and the others honour robots.txt, and the generator has a toggle for each. Blocking them stops your content being used for training but also removes you from AI search answers.
Where does the file go?
At the root of the domain, as /robots.txt, served as plain text. A robots.txt in a subfolder is ignored.
Will these tools guarantee better rankings?
No tool can promise that. These checks fix technical problems that hold a page back, such as missing titles or broken schema. Rankings still depend mostly on useful content and links from other sites.
Is Robots.txt Generator free with no limits?

How long should a title and meta description be?
